If you come by car you still have to pay for the boat slip, plus there is a parking fee.
Saturday the group details my boat, from the rub rail up
For Sunday Doug has a list of chores for all members for work that needs to be done at his house.

Kat and I are going to put the itinerary together this weekend - it will be pretty similar to last year's. Not sure how many of Rob's items will make the final cut...

I know we do NOT plan on providing a group entree on Saturday. Appetizers and sides to share, and plenty of grills to cook your own.

Hello AOGers!,

We are looking forward to seeing you all in just a few days! We just had another boat join us so I think the official count is 10! woohoo! Double digits!

As you approach Essex hail Essex Island Marina on VHF channel 9. Assuming all goes to plan you will be in A-Basin right next to the dock office. A basin is on the river side of the marina.

Kat and I will be coming to the marina around noon on Friday, June 28. We plan to follow the traditional schedule:

Friday, afternoon - Meet and greet with hors d’ouevres and cocktails on the dock or the Wheelhouse on top of the dock office depending on the weather.

Friday evening - If you’re still hungry for dinner or dessert, you may wish to visit one of the fine establishments in downtown Essex, a short ferry ride and walk from the marina

Saturday - There’s plenty to do in Essex: I recommend checking out the Connecticut River Museum. Or take a stroll in downtown Essex, do some shopping, grab an ice cream. For anyone who is interested, Hamburg Cove, a very nice anchorage in Lyme, is a short run up the river. If you’re more adventurous, and your boat is quick enough, you can run up the river a bit further and check out Gillette Castle, and then the Goodspeed Opera House, go under the swing bridge and have a BYOB lunch at the Blue Oar (free dockage for lunch!)

Or, you can lounge by the pool. (Kat highly recommends the pool!)

Saturday evening at 6:00 - Meet at “The Deck” for a potluck dinner. We’re asking folks to bring their own entree as well as sides and desert to share. Grills will be available. Kat’s Bok Choy salad will make an appearance once again! As usual, it will be a BYOB event.

After dinner we’re planning a small raffle - we have some AOG swag coming courtesy of John Collins and I have a few items from the marina. If anyone has anything that they’d like to donate to the raffle that would be appreciated! Proceeds will go to support the AOG website.

Sunday morning at 8:00 - Breakfast back at the dock area. We will bring quiche and fruit salad. Other contributions are welcome. BYOC (Bring your own coffee).
