Gulf Of Mexico Fishing Trip

Post by rcornejo »

Here are a couple of pictures I took on our fishing trip this month aboard our 28 TE in the Gulf of Mexico. I run a small charter company called Goin Deeper Charters but take our photos at the Fisherman's Warf in Port Aransas, Texas. This is one of our 8 hour charters. By the way, this was a good day and we had our fish caught by 12:00 noon. As you can see, there are Snapper, Ling, Shark, and Kingfish. We have had many other great trips this month as well.

Our trips range from 30 to 60 miles in the Gulf, therefore, I am considering moving up to a 32+2 which will give me more cockpit room and more fuel capacity. If you have any experience on a 32+2 I would sure love to hear what you have to say about it in comparison to the 28 TE. I love my 28 but the raised motor cover tends to get in the way. Also, the lack of seating is another problem for our clients.

Thanks for your help.

I'm 99% certain there's a member here who runs a charter business (in Alaska?) on a CB. Can't find it but I know there are pictures, he enclosed his helm area. Might have some good info.

Hi Doug,

I'll look for that. As I said, I love my 28 as you did, but the extra space would be nice.

Looks like a great trip! For more seating you should add a backrest to your engine box. It was one of the best modifications I have made to my 1997 TE. Inexpensive and very functional.

Hi Roland, I found the post I was looking for: viewtopic.php?t=4377

Put a little AC up in that helm and you'd be stylin'!

Hi Doug,

Thanks for the link. That is very cool. I wish I could see how they did that. That looks nice.

You're welcome Roland.

I was actually thinking you might e-mail the member who posted it, he runs a charter business off of the Albin. Don't think you're in competition! :-)
