36 TE - 3126B Cat - temperature range?

Post by krc »

Hello,

I am curious as to what temperatures people are seeing on the CAT 3126B at different RPMS. Below 2000 the temperature gauge is around 190, but at 2400 or so I can get to 201 or 205 even. At WOT for a few minutes I see it up to 212 plus.... Not that I run at WOT very often...

Would like to compare what others see... Thanks.

Between 195 and 205 most of the time. WOT up to 212, just like you said.

I should clarify, I would say it runs right at 195 degrees at least 90% of the time. It's only when I kick up the RPMs significantly that it goes higher.

Thanks for the feedback. I will keep an eye on this a bit more, maybe look at the impeller. In my boat, it seems to be a pain to get to however.
