Albin 43' fuel useage

Post by moonchaser »

I am considering an Albin 43' Trawler with twin Lehman 120 hp engines & would like to get some idea of the expected fuel consumption when cruising at 5-7 knots. Further, I am wondering if running on one engine at a time is advisable & if that would boost the fuel economy? Jim

I have a 43 albin sundeck. I use about 3 gal / hr. Using one engine to my knowledge is not more economical. Mine is also listed with kijiji Halifax if you want to see it.

I'm also very interested in RPM setting for the 120hp Lehmans.

I have read that max rpm for those motors is 2500 so 75% power would be 1850rpm We've run ours 1800 and got around 7.5knots all day. Just had the bottom clean so maybe we can pick up a half KT...

Any input on RPM would be appreciated-

Depends on which tach I use :D Last season my flybridge tach was 2000 rpm higher than the inside one. Had me running slower for awhile until I got my phototach and learned that the inside one was accurate; looks like it's time to adjust or replace the outside one.
