I have a 1996 28 TE. I am on shore power and the light is on indicating I have power to the panel. However the battery charger is not working. Other than the trip near the IRCO switch, is there another place I need to check?

Could there be an inline fuse for the battery charger? Ours has one.

There are more places to check than the main AC Panel.

As Nancy stated, some installations also have an inline fuse "in addition" to a glass or blade fuse inside of the charger.

What do you have for a charger? Make & Model??

I would suggest that you disconnect the power lead from the battery charger and reconnect it to a known power source. This will tell you whether the battery charger is at fault or the power source. If the charger works, then it is the input leads somewhere. If you cannot find the fault in the input leads, then run another cable to the charger fully switched and fused.

My charger was not working this year and I ended up with dead batteries. For the life of me I could find nothing wrong with the power connection to the charger, yet no indicator lights or anything... So I assumed I had a bad charger... Short story, when I checked my battery connections, I had a loose connection on one of the terminals. When I tightened them all up, everything came to life... My issues was loose battery connections which looked like a bad battery charger.

Not sure if this was solved yet - my story was with a Blue Sea Systems charger - worked great and then suddenly would not power up. I traced everything and found nothing. Double checked the manual to see if there were any switches I was missing. Result -they had a small glass fuse in the unit that I could not see because of how it was mounted - nothing in the manual I had called it a "fuse" - but it was visible in the images, just not labeled -- - $0.35 later, and it was working fine.

Problem solved. Thanks for the heads-up on the inline fuse. That did the trick.
Thanks All
