I'm in the process of buying a 28TE and the boat has a Garmin 3206 plotter. I'd like to add WiFi for use with my iPad/iPhone. Has anyone made this upgrade? How well does it work? What hardware did you buy?

The Garmin 3206 died two days into our voyage from NC to FL, ended up replacing it with a 740S model which I hope is more reliable. Not fun to loose the plotter when you know that the current location on the ICW is thin water and we have about 2 ft. of water under the keel.
