New member would like to inspect an Albin 25 near the Chesapeake Bay

Post by R2Straebel »

Ahoy Albin Owners:

We have been researching Albin 25s and would love to actually see one, including the trailer setup if possible.

The Western Shore of the Chesapeake is where we hang out.

We live in Chevy Chase, MD, (outside of Washington, D.C.) and keep a Saga 409 sailboat at Zahnizers at Solomons, MD. (We spend a lot of time on highway 4.)

We are thinking about purchasing a trailerable Albin 25 as a second boat to extend our cruising range.

We've never seen an Albin 25 so would love to see one if anybody in the area has one that we could see.

Thanks so much.

We cruised the Chesapeake with our Albin 25 two years ago, including stops in Solomons, St. Leonards Creek, Cambridge, Oxford, & St. Michaels. Did not see a single other A25. Did see one A27 at Vera's, and a 28TE in Cambridge. If you want to see what cruising with an A25 is like, go on YouTube and search 'Albin 25 East Coast Cruise 2015'

Thank you La Dolche Vita for the inspiring video. Watched both parts. Now you know how hot and humid summers are on the Chesapeake, which is why we want a Albin 25 that we can tow to cooler climates June -August !!

Like Puget Sound, San Juan Islands, Gulf Islands (BC Canada), Desolation Sound (also BC). Yes, Chesapeake summers are hot & humid. Nasty t-storms too. Which is why we cut our cruise short after 2 weeks. Would have preferred fall, but for other reasons had to make it late June & early July.
We are in Florida near Orlando with our RV right now, and it's humid here too. Having hookups & A/C is more necessity than luxury.
