1985 FC Forward hatch

Post by changer »

I am looking for information about the main saloon hatch. I can't find a brand or model#. Any one know what the "glass" is made of? It has shattered like safety glass.
Any one replaced the whole unit ? Any advice. Bomar fit?

Thank you...rainy season is around the corner here in FL

I just replaced mine. Found one on ebay (BOWMAR direct replacement # BOM G9951111)...was $419. Pricey, but mine was shot. It was a perfect fit, went in great, just had some heavy rain and no more leaks!!! Plastic glass/lens. Better strut design and latches. Comes with a bug screen.

Thanks Jay. I got mine out today and surely found the build as you describe. Now to repair. BTW, my lens was tempered glass !!! If shattered into little pieces as I was lifting it out .... ugly with lots of shards. I am surprised that it was glass ...FYI

Your hatch part number is exactly one of the ones I am looking to buy for replacement.

thanks again,
