27FC horn location?

Post by dcpage »

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me where the horn should be on a 1986 27FC? I'm having a hard time tracing the wiring, and I don't see any obvious mounting locations (no unused holes or mounting brackets).

Thanks,
Dave in Maine

Mine was on the starboard side over the sliding window -- forward end, the PO just ran a cable up the inside of the pilothouse and then thru a hole to the horn.

Mazboot's is starboard side on the wheelhouse upright; cable run is under the wheelhouse overhang. I'm about to install a louder horn; current is kind of wimpy. That said, I doubt if 10% of Bay boaters know what horn signals mean, other than "get the hell out of my way!" (Much like DC Beltway drivers)

Mine was here:

On the pillar forward of the pilothouse side window.

It's a single trumpet Origo electric horn.
