Yikes! Listed as having a “Saab” engine - I’m sure they mean “Sabb”. Unless it’s a three cylinder two-stroke! Looks pretty decent for that money though.

For Albin hunters, Fort Myers C-List is LOADED with boats right now!

Just looking at it again on a big screen -- I can't tell if it has a variable pitch prop on it -- a lot of Sabb installations are so equipped. The helm picture shows a typical Morse two lever control, but there is another lever along side the helm that could be for prop control?

Interesting!

Agree, for $3,500 with trailer one could afford to do a lot of TLC. I see from the photos it's missing the vent cover on the front starboard corner of the cabin top. That's the one that opens to a hollow channel in the roof that leads to the head compartment. In that Florida climate means that likely a lot of rainwater ran into it. Also has some sort of steering wheel mounted autohelm, although what are the chances it's in working order. One could easily drop another 10 to 15 grand in it & still be ahead.
This boat has been a fixture for years in the Bahamas.
From the documentation passed along to us from the PO it seems our boat spent some time in Florida back in late 1980s-early 1990s several PO's back & made at least a few trips out to Grand Bahama.

Remember the old saying about SAAB cars? "When you get a SAAB, you sob!"

Yes :D — but, Sabb is completely unrelated to Saab. The former is a Diesel marine engine company, and is Norwegian, the auto/airplane company is Swedish.

At that price it’s a heck of a deal, and the pictures for what their worth suggests enough of it is still there. A repower would be a certainty in my opinion...

Well, maybe, but for me, the Sabb could be that boat's best feature. I'd guess it's probably a twin, maybe the 30hp, and that is a real, old-school, low speed diesel. Sabb is still in business, and they are pretty good about supporting their older products.

Here's a video of a cold start of a 30hp twin. I love that sound, so much more relaxing (at least to my ears) than the clattery snarl of a high speed engine.

I'd say so! And here I thought my bilge was filthy!

Our Yanmar installation runs fairly quiet, a muffled low pitch 'thrum' that is nearly vibration free & easy to carry on normal conversations at 2,350 RPM cruising revs. One of these days I should beg, borrow, or steal a decibel meter & measure the actual noise level. I just wish Yanmars had glow plugs. They don't like cold starting at any ambient temp below 50 or 60 degrees.

That WAS a good deal, it wasn’t going to last long at that price.
