New owner of 28 TE in Mattapoisett Ma.

Post by Capt Brad »

Hi,
Just bought a 2006 28TE flush deck in Tiverton and brought her home to Mattapoisett. So far I am pleased with how she handles. She handles kind of "ship like" . Rides like my last Ocean salvage I was Capt on before retirement. She is wet though. There are a couple other 28's here but not sure if are members of the owners group. Looking forward to relaxing days at Tashmoo, Hadley's harbor and other buzzards bay and Vineyard sound hangouts.

Captain Brad,

Welcome to Albin ownership and to a terrific support group in AOG. What is the name of your A28? We just returned from Tashmoo, Hadley Harbor, Cuttyhunk and Block Island. Our homeport is in Cataumet at Kingman YC. Hope to see you out there.

Hi Marcy,
Across the Bay in Mattapoisett. There are 3 28TE’s here. Name of the boat is About Time. Put hrs on the engine this summer. Hanging in for those last one or two last days!

"ship like" and wet - yes and yes. Rain-X is your new best friend. Different look with the high painted water line and no boot stripe - I like it (I guess the birds like it too). Sharp looking boat.

Tired of cleaning waterline scum and the red boot stripe was faded to Pink! Easier and cleaner to raise the bottom paint. 5month in the water and no scum!

Same deal here. The Albin had a white boot stripe that kept me way to busy to try and keep clean. My slip is a 3-sided slip so it can act like a trap and get surface scummy if the wind is blowing into it. My Chris has the high painted waterline...MUCH easier
