Greetings from a new Albin 27FC owner in Vermont!

Post by johnnylion »

Hi Folks,

Our just-purchased 1985 Albin 27FC is on a trailer and making its way from Wilson, NY to Grande Isle on Lake Champlain! She should be in the water tomorrow afternoon!

As our first foray into larger power boats (we've been paddle craft people for decades) we're really looking forward to getting to know her and having many (happy!) adventures with her!

Glad I found this Owners' Group as it played a key part in helping us find our new boat and convincing us that this was a world we wanted to explore!

Cheers,
John & Robin Hadden

Welcome! Another way to the darkside from another angle! Best part is you can strap the kayaks to the top.

That's the plan! We've got 16' sea kayaks that we love. We thinking of using the 27 as a "mothership" for interesting paddles in shallower water. Lake Champlain has plenty to explore. Then there are the canals....!

Welcome to you both, sounds like a great plan. Your 27 should be a great platform for the new adventures. How were you planing on ferrying the sea kayaks, could fit on cabin roof? Enjoy.

Hi Mark,

Yes, that's the potential idea. Not sure if we want to go with a set of basic auto crossbars between the cabin handrails, or something more in keeping with the aesthetic of the teak. We'd have to also raise the all-around light as it's mounted right on the roof. We'll probably wait until next season to figure it out, as our marina hauls out be Oct 1...

Welcome aboard, John and Robin! We'll keep an eye out for you on the northern end of the lake. Are you at Ladd's Landing? We're in Malletts Bay.
