Ok just don't erase them, I'll bring my laptop to Essex and do the "Vulcan Mind Meld".

We are planning on attending , Santa got us an up dated Navionics chip for the chart plotter on Pirates Treasure.
What would the time estimate be from The Throgs Neck area to Connecticut River? I would be cruising the Yanmar at between 3200 and 3600 rpms, about 20 knots. I was guessing at around 4-5 hours.

Let me know if deposits are due etc. My wife's name is Jane.

Hey Jersey Albin perhaps we can get a mini armada going for anyone coming from the East River/Western Sound areas. Throggs Neck bridge is just about my starting point.

See attached distance map. Looks like 74 nautical miles so 5 hours would require an avg cruise of 15knots..... so that's reasonable

Sounds good - I've added you and Jane to the list. I should be getting paperwork from EIM soon and will see what the financial requirements are and keep everyone posted.

Excellent. Peter & Gretchen and Colin & Pam have been added to the list. As of now we have 14 boats, unless John & Sharon are up to burning some serious fuel. The plan is that as long as we all reserve with enough lead time we will be docked as a group, that will be a site to see. Certainly will be the biggest group of Albins I have seen together, dealers included.

I like that idea.. I have been through the sandbars at Moriches twice and managed without mishap. I know they have moved but we have Rob (that is his backyard) to show us the way :D

I can't commit completely yet, however if I do attend I'd be interested in this as my local knowledge is pretty much limited to South Shore L.I. and I sort of worry about Morriches.

Other than the South Shore of LI, esp. Moriches, there are no worries. That's what's nice about the Essex location, no Block Island Sound, Buzzard's Bay, etc. to deal with, at least for the majority of the group. I think this will help with the attendence outcome, marine weather effect, etc....

I am sure to do some recon before the rendezvous. It's stressfull going through there, but I always go slower than 7kts throught the bad areas. It's just sand and the keel does a good job of protecting the prop.
My brother in law, a past commodore of the Saville Yacht Club and can find info and good coordiates from their members who go through there all the time. I'm not worried right now. I have to look at Tidetool for the area and see what the optimal time (peak hi tide) is.
I have a pretty good path plugged into my handheld Garmin through the area and will adjust it when I get detailed info on the sand bar shifts prior to the trip.

Hope you can make it!

Looks like it's going to be a great turnout!!!

The Joint Venture has confirmed reservation at Essex Island. For those who are planning or considering a longer stay EIM has a stay 7 nights for a 5 night fee ( 2 free nights ) deal.
We are arriving 7/20 and departing 7/27 for an effect dockage fee of $3.35 per foot.
Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new members.

See what a few unseasonably warm days can do :D . John & Mracia: 1st to respond, first to book and maybe the first to arrive. Love the procative approach. John, did they discuss slip assigment? Our early booking gives us the entire "B" floater so we are together as a group. Just curious if they mentioned that to you.

Received the below email over the weekend from powerboater56. John & Linda, I hope the deal and the "home run" from MI all work out for you. I have added you to the roster as tentative. Based on my "transient experiences" and travels of last season I doubt there would be no room at EIM for a late booking. You just may have some limitations to where in the marina you end up. Not a big deal at all as it's not an overly large place and it's "U" shaped layout makes it easy to get around. Let the process run it's course and keep us posted.

Rob,
I am sending you a very tentative "yes" to participating in the Essex
rendezvous on July 24 & 25th. Attendees would be my wife Linda and myself
(John).

It is tentative because I am in agreement to buy a 2005 Albin 35 CB, but it
hasn't closed. More important, the boat is located in Michigan, near
Detroit and I plan to bring it back to RI via Erie Canal/Hudson River in
late May or early June. I am still a long way away from planning the route
back and at this point I don't know how long it will take.

I am going to wait until the boat is in RI and all is OK with it before I
reserve space at the marina, if there is any left. I hope there will be
space for me if I get the boat back here in time.

Regards,
John Schieffelin
