AOG New England - Great time!

Just as at the Chesapeake rendezvous, I left Ct. this morning, feeling as if we were all old friends. Many thanks to all of our new friends and family from New England. I thought having a band at the Chesapeake gathering was great. This one had a boat-to-boat masseuse! Class act gentlemen. Rob and Erika did a hell of a job pulling this together.

Anyone that ever makes it down this way, our door is open to anything you need.

It was so nice getting out And finally placing a face to everyone. Cathy and I had a great time. I hope to get some pics posted later..
Glad to finally meet you John
Great job putting it together Rob
Wow i THOUGHT i WAS BURNING ABOUT 20 GPH
After 7 hours run time and at least 5 1/2 at 3000-3100 RPM 19+ knots found I burnt 13.5 gal per hour from NYC to Essex YEAH not bad for running twin 315's

Back later

Thanks Rob! Fantastic effort putting this together! Super location, great group of folks! I'm looking forward to next year.

Had a challenging run up north in the fog but the seas were calm. I feel like I earned my merit badge in instrument navigation on this one.

Cheers,

Carl

:D It was great meeting everyone! We never made it back Saturday night for the deck party (via car) as we had planned, took a slight detour in the Sound on the way home-the bite was on! The sound was bubbling with blues, fun to catch but didn't keep any.

Glad everyone made it home safely. We were thinking of Ed and Kathy wondering what time they left, heading right through the tornado warning in the early evening eekk! Fog is no picnic either Carl.

Kudos to Rob for putting in all together, thanks to Grace and Elle for the bracelets. Thanks to Gerry for the teak mat idea in the head (adding it to the winter project list) and a special thanks to John for starting the website.

Ed-I have some nice pics of Mahalo underway from Hamburg Cove, somehow I will have to figure out how to post them.

Take care, and if anyone wants to meet up on LI, BI or the CT shore, give us a hollar!

Rob and Erika,

Thanks again for hosting a great event. We are all looking forward to next year and sharing more of the effort. We'll post pictures when we return - we leave tomorrow for our month of August cruise. Rob, how did the steering repair work out? It was really nice to meet and revisit

Elle and Grace - thanks for the bracelet - we look forward to seeing you again next year.

Thanks, John, also, for putting together this web site - nice to finally meet you and Sharon.

I have not posted as I went right from the dock on Monday to the airport Tuesday morning to pay for more diesel fuel. After 4 days in Essex CT, St Louis MO was quite a culture shock.
I would like to thank Rob & Erika and Grace & Ellie for putting on the whole thing and being such excellent hosts. Karen & I had a great time, and really enjoyed all the friends, old & new. My understanding is that Rob has tentatively booked the EIM for the same weekend next year. I have informally volunteered to get the ball rolling for next year as well. If anyone else is interested in working on next years rendezvous or would like to make suggestions, please private message me over the next few months and we'll start to look forward to next year once the boating season starts to wind down. As a moderator of the photo section I guess I should put together a little primer on posting photos. Problem is I think some of the rules have changed. John C could you PM me on current best practices for posting photos? I'm using Photobucket at the moment and inserting tags in my posts, is there a better way? Should we get a Photobucket account for the site and allow all to post in one place?
