Just broken my leg! That's the end of my 2017 sailing season. Damn!

We better let this topic get back on subject to avoid the wrath of JT. Just sayin'.

Somebody open a new thread to send get well wishes to Smacksman.

Sorry to hear about your fin, Smacksman. Hope it comes together soon and that you will be cruising and messing around in boats very shortly. Your video about the ICW was inspirational.
Airport scans are good with pins, screws and plates, but you may be body-scanned

Thank you very much for your good wishes. (only just found this thread)
As an engineer I was interested in the technology of fixing broken bones so badgered all the medics for information. They were very patient with me!

You are most welcome. I enjoyed reading about your adventures on the ICW. Still getting a chuckle out of your Walmart Isinglass (great solution to an over-expensive problem).
When will you be in the US again?

I would like to jump on a plane tomorrow if I could. I loved America!
In reality I need to see how my 75 year old leg heals as you need to be fairly fit to walk the miles at airports. haha!

When you get here, be sure to hit the Chesapeake. I'll be pleased to go for a quick spin round the buoy.

Many thanks for the offer. The Chesapeake, Delaware and the Hawk Channel off the Keys were the only stretches of deep water on the ICW we could sail in so loved it , even if the weather was 'fresh'.
Had the plaster taken off my leg yesterday so that is progress. The skin looked horrible - like something out of a zombie movie!! Haha!
