Carpet Replacement 31 TE

Post by Low Country »

1996 31 TE: I am replacing the carpets in the pilot house and cabin.
Has anyone used a web based supplier? Past post indicate most folks go to a local supplier.
I am looking for suggestions on best replacement products?

Thanks,
Dave

I have not replaced mine yet but when I do I will bring old mats to my local carpet guy,,,,pick out a teak wood grained look and have him cut and bond the ends , since most carpets are poly and synthetic im sure they will work fine and surely the price will be right

Just finished cutting new carpet. I made up templates as the carpet did not provide exact enough measurements. Now its off to a sailmaker to have the edge binding attached. I will use the existing snaps in the cabin and install new ones in pilothouse. Supplies were obtained from an on line store here in Canada. I'm sure there must be many sources in States.ImageImage

I'll check with Seafarer in Norwalk CT. They made the salon and companionway carpets for Sonny IV. Can't recall the brand name. It's a synthetic material with a nice weave pattern (might be the same as Russell's). It has a nice non slip backer and will NOT stick to your floor if it gets wet. I love it because I just pick it up, roll it out on the dock, and wash it down with a hose if it gets dirty. A few minutes to dry and it goes back in.

I've had really good results with the marine carpet with a teak look. Not sure what the exact name is called but it is nice. All in I think it was $900 for the cabin, but hoping it will last a decade +
