original MSRP price of 2005 28 flush deck?

Post by Tenby Too »

hi. I am looking at a 2005 TE 28 with 600hrs. Seemingly in very good condition. no options or upgrades...just a nice clean boat. Any thoughts on what this boat should sell for in USD? Also, i am having trouble finding the original MSRP online. any guidance? many thanks all.

Not sure what you mean, let me guess:
No Auto pilot, no chart plotter, no radar, no ELT, no windlass, no canvas, etc..?
What engine? Maintenance all done, bottom clean and maintained?
Hard to guess a price without details and without pictures.

I think Albin was still holding $149,999 at that time. Very competitive with all the other down east style boats coming put at much higher price points. Of course, that meant the buyer had to add electronics.

Yeah, that sounds right:
I tried to buy a brand new Albin 28TE in 2015 and it was listed for about that. The broker never returned my calls and I assumed it was sold, bought a brand new Glacier Bay 2770 instead. (Had it for 18 months, decided I did not like it, sold it for more than I paid and found me a used but creampuff Albin 28TE instead.)

As for Original Poster: Looks like the 28 you are asking about is fairly well equipped, diesel generator and all: Few 28s have a genset.
Looks like it has most everything except an Autopilot..

Yo Russel:
I like your boat and the aft seating area with storage: Was that an Albin option or did you find it after market? If so, brand/model? Easy to remove?

That sounds like a boat with quite a few options. Many don’t have gen sets, vacuflush heads, ac/heat and windless’. Honestly If it’s in great shape that boat has the potential to command a premium, what they asking for it?

I think the 150,xxx was before you added options. I have the original build sheet/order form for my 98 with a very similar build but with the peninsular diesel and it was iirc around 180k++

The aft seat is a factory option that was part of the Gatsby package. It is moulded and screwed into deck. It can be removed but involved silicone seals.

I have seen the Gatsby Edition, but the boat on the picture is not a
Gatsby, but same seat?

The original Albin spec sheet shows this boat has the Gatsby options. Rear seat, wood wheel, and up graded cushions.
