Considering a 1999 with sliding rear helm door. Any feedback?

Depends on how and where you use your vessel. I like not having the rear door in the area I use my vessel.

I had that setup and overall enjoyed the ability to close up when wanted or needed. It also added security to leave gear in the helm area.

As far as access to the cockpit from the helm it does restrict and choke access, but no different than the newer 28's that have the L-shaped setee.

When buying my 28 I asked the dealer to remove the bulkhead thinking that I'd prefer an open back, which I am sure I would have liked, but the dealer suggested that I try it for a season. I was very glad that I did and then proceeded forward with nine great seasons with that hull. It's all in the eyes of the beholder.

Thanks. Thought the enclosed helm might make it hotter and more clostraphobic in the Cape Cod Summers. There are trade offs for everything. Boat condition etc. will make the difference.
