You’ll need a set of radio removal keys. Push them in each side and the radio should just pop out. Replaced my old clarion CD player a while ago with a new DAB radio with Bluetooth.

I've gotten those keys before on eBay / Amazon, but I don't see the spots where you insert on this one?

Having trouble posting but that appears to be an older model with the retaining nuts behind the knobs. Pull them off and take a look.

I replaced mine this spring . But now it only randomly piers up. Anyone know where the power comes from? Must be loose connection somewhere.

My radio is powered right from DC Main. I don’t have it connected to any of the fuses on DC Panel. It has in inline fuse on the back of the radio on red wire. Sounds like a loose connection or the fuse is not properly pushed together.

Turns out part of the power comes from resettable relay right above and behind the batteries. The delay was weak and would trip. Boat yard traced it out and replaced it. I think they have most power come from Dc panel, but also from battery direct through this relay to keep memory stations set when you turn off DC/ battery switch. Since they changed out no issues. As a matter of safety, I
don’t turn on electronics until engine started and preheaters are cycled off. Thanks for the info.

Finally removed old stereo today, had a wiring problem for the Navtex, ended up removing everything

Since I got it out, might as well install a modern stereo, looking for advice: Need simplicity, would rather control from an iPhone app than a dedicated remote, or run downstairs to up and down volume, change tunes, etc.
Would like a CD player, but can live without in 2020
This is my initial choice:

Fusion MS-RA70i
A689A4DA-174B-449A-BB72-4242A09B2EC9.jpeg

It should fit in the cutout, the 4 speaker wires should be plug and play, same with AM/FM.

Any experience with this unit, or any similar stereo..?

We installed a Fusion MS-RA70N last year. Don't know offhand what the difference is between the i and the N. No complaints. Display is easy to read - almost can read it w/o glasses. Maybe that will happen once I re-read the manual. I don't like just pushing buttons. Something always changes unintentionally and I waste a lot of time figuring out how to undo it. it connects fine to a Galaxy tablet or my Pixel 4. No iPhone for me. Probably lose some easy controls, but I'll live with the tradeoff.

You getting new speakers?

Nah, speakers are good: Too much work replacing 4 speakers and running wires all over the place after dismantling the tub, then putting it back together.
(Unless of course we should get a pandemic when we are all stuck at home with nothing else to do. )
