Diesel Generator for 28TE
Has anyone installed a diesel generator on a 28TE, recently? If so, please say the make, model and if you are satisfied. I saw a picture of an older one and it looked as if it were installed in the starboard hatch next to the engine box. Thank you. Also, please state the approximate cost.

I put in a used Mase 2.5, it is a single cylinder yanmar. Wasn't easy but certainly doable, mine is in front of the engine. Has enough power to run everything including water heater but no extra 
. The hardest part is finding something that will fit down that hatch, and then of course maintenance is an issue. I'll put some pics up...

Unfortunately I don't have a great pic of the install on my phone, you can see the lift muffler and raw water feed and the transfer switch installed in the cabin.

I installed a Fischer Panda in a 28 TE engine box. It was tight, as I remember we had to remove some of the exhaust to get it in. It was a 4 kw, ran and worked like a champ.
I've sold the boat and don't have the pictures any more. My advice; if you can run your A/C and make coffee in the AM, that's what I would do.
Remember, it's not just getting it in there but also being able to service it.
