cradle info for 32+2 on a LIft

Post by bigdishdoctor »

Looking at putting my 32+2 on a lift to protect it from the salt water and reduce overall maintenance. Need help on the support cradle under the hull. Does anyone have their boat on a lift? If so can they post a picture of the support cradle or provide info/ideas.

thanks,

Steve

cradle design

Post by bigdishdoctor »

Yes, I designed my own cradle. The cradle supports the boat along the keel with side bunks for stability. The unit is fabricated from aluminum and was bolted together on site. Works very well and is easy to get on and off due to its self guiding v-blocks.

I have drawings of the design and have attached a picture of the lift and with the boat raised.

Way to come through for a fellow member! I don't think he could have asked for a better response. (faster, perhaps, but not better)

This is why I think a site like this is so valuable. He needed something pretty obscure and off-the-wall, and got exactly what he was looking for.

Thank you all for participating.

Oh BTW I have since added sliding and articulating planks. This allows me to wash and wax the hull while on the lift. The planks are aluminum and are sold by bigdaddy ladders although I'm sure others will work. I have some drawings if anyone is interested.

I painted the hull white about 5-years ago. Got tired of buffing and waxing the blue hull.

Great Job. We all would like to be so lucky to have a fine lift out of the water!
