Need Dinghy Recommendation

Post by newsie »

We have a 32+2 CB with Atkins & Hoyle davits that attach to our swim platform. We need to purchase a dinghy and motor that is light weight enough for 2 folks (ages 70 and 60) to manage.

Appreciate any recommendations,
Jane and Robin

Your best bet for light weight is probably one of the non-RIB boats with the air floor. The floor is inflatable and becomes very rigid. Several brands have these floors. We had one of the Zodiac 10ft air floor boats over 20 years ago and found that it performed well...could plane with 2 people and a 5hp motor. The floor held up well as long as you don't haul heavy sharp stuff or have a big dog with sharp nails! We don't have the boat any longer as we don't anchor and dinghy now.
