fresh water intake

Can anyone tell me how the fresh water intake in the cockpit of a 32+2 is supposed to work? Where does the water go? Does it just refill the water tanks?

Assuming it's a typical "city water connection" it feeds water to the entire freshwater system BEYOND the pump. In fact you can turn your pump off. It does not feed the tank. It just provides water as needed (open taps, shower, etc.)
