So what did you reserve, a room or a slip? Or both a room and a slip and one gets canceled depending on your mode of transportation.

With Spring finally arriving, it’s time to seriously consider your plans for the Albin Owner’s Rendezvous Weekend, Friday to Sunday, July 25, 26 and 27, 2014 at Townsend Manor Inn Marina, 714 Main St., Greenport, NY 11944. Reservations can be made thru email: TMINNRES at yahoo.com, attention Scott Gonzalez or telephone Scott at 631-477-2000. As mentioned in the earlier announcement, the rate is $4.00 per foot Friday to Sunday, $3.50 per foot Monday – Thursday, and the rate includes water, electric and cable. Remember: the slips being held for us are only guaranteed until May 31, 2014 so make your reservation today!!

Townsend’s Marina (http://www.townsendinn.com) has a large lawn with pool and adjacent snack bar, both shore side and floating docks, a full service restaurant, a nice bar overlooking the Marina, and rooms available at the hotel. The Marina is a short walk into a lively town with many shops, a selection of restaurants, movie theater and a great Carousel at the bay front park.

For those joining us for the first time, the usual weekend activities would include Friday night meet and greet cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, possible dinner at hotel or in town, and lots of boat perusing and visiting. Saturday options: pool time, group rafting for swim, fishing, touring town, shopping/browsing (there are art galleries, antique shops and boutiquie shops as well as clothing , etc. shops), and the usual boat talk…. Then the traditional big BYOB Pot Luck Dinner with more ho’d’s and cocktails, raffles, prizes, etc. under the tent on the grassed barbeque area. We will be renting a tent as there is no covered facility in case of nasty weather (and past history deems it wise). Tent set up is quoted at $325 and includes tent, tables and chairs to be covered thru the raffles.

So MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS, bring your good spirits, your favorite hors d’oeuvres and tasty entrees and drinks, and let’s enjoy the comraderie!

Thanks Rob. I re-sent it, above, written it "at" format. If you can delete the incorrect I would appreciate it. I can't delete it. Apparently web site won't accept the "@" and scrambles it.

John, the CPO's name is Margaret. As I stated before, our daughter is getting married the weekend before, this trip should be interesting.

I only got as far as DC5 (Damage Control 2 nd. class USN)

The King Arthur hails from Greenport, NY therefore we will not be staying at Townsend Marina but would still like to be part of the activities. Is this possible?

Absolutely, we always need ground transportation! Oh wait, you already provided that and more for my family last 4th of July weekend!

BTW, your upgrades look great! and will surely add to the use of the boat. I think I know which one of your son's helped you with that project
