Capt Zinbaad to take over "Mahalo"

Post by zinbaad »

Well actually it is not finalized until the survey is done but after much soul searching and anxiety over deciding seems like it will be happening.
Capt Zinbaad will keep th "Mahalo" name on her stern
Always have admired the 28 & 31's lines and class & looks. As the clocks tick away in our lives what the hell, if ya seem to love it , go for it.
First cruise will be from Peconic Bay & around Orient Point on the tip of Long Island to the Whitestone Bridge in New York home port.

Love to hear from you all.... Anyone know the Mahalo??

Mahalo is a Hawaiian word meaning thanks, gratitude, admiration, praise, esteem, regards, respects. According to the Pukui and Elbert Hawaiian Dictionary, it is derived from the Proto Polynesian masalo.

The word is of post-contact origin. Lorrin Andrews in his dictionary of 1865 does not have any words for thanks or gratitude. Early visitors noted that the Hawaiians were generous and grateful people, but had no word to express gratitude.

Congrats. That's exactly what I said when I bought my 28 last year - What am I waiting for? - Life is too short and fragile...

The south side of the LI Sound can be a little lumpy this time of year with the North winds but that 31 will surely eat it up.

Where is she now? Hampton Bays?

Just checked out Mahalo on yachtword - very nice looking, a bigger version of my 28 as I too have the flag blue hull, oyster topsides, grey nonskid and the gold pin strip, a real classy color combo. So so many compliments on her this summer. Get used to many people stopping by with compliments and questions :D
