200 mi NC Cruise on a 27 aft cabin

Post by 96flht »

I just completed a trip on an 86 Family Cruiser. We totalled about 200 statute miles (after running around looking for fuel and anchorages) over four days, leaving from New Bern and ending in Mackey's creek across from Edenton. The little 78 hp diesel did great burning 28 gallons of fuel and averaging 6 knots. I have only owned this boat for a few months and have previously only been out a couple hours at a time, but I was very impressed with the seaworthyness and comfort of my new toy. Looking forward to some Chesapeake Bay cruising next year.

Jack,
Sounds like a great cruise. Very good numbers.

See you on the Chesapeake!
