2003-ish Norcold fridge amp draw

Post by jms02050 »

Searched but didn’t see it posted anywhere. I’ve got an 03 28 with a Norcold fridge. Left the manual on the boat.... trying to determine amp draw because I’m looking to get a portable solar panel to cover the draw on the house back while we’re on the hook (pretty much every weekend). Hoping a 100W panel from Renology would do the trick.

If anyone has the info it would save me a trip to the boat (although that’s never a bad thing).

Thx!
Jim

You might be able to find the manual on the Norcold web site.

It's actually an Isotherm. Probably a 42 liter. Got the manual. Strangely no mention of amp draw or wattage. Can't get the model of the fridge because the sticker inside the fridge has worn off.

I don't know about older units, but according to Isotherm's data sheets, a new 42 liter 12v Isotherm draws about 300w/24hrs. If my math is correct, that converts to about 25amps/24hrs or 1 amp/hour.
