A25 DeLuxe - Standing water against the aft cabin door & frame

Post by cmoffatnc1 »

We are in the process of replacing the canvas on Du Nord and hope to mitigate most of this problem but in the meanwhile we are wondering if anyone else has had or solved this problem. When we take on rain water, it seems to pond at the base of the door and frame of the aft cabin. Looks like it has gone on for years as the aft cabin door as delaminated in the lower right hand corner.

Has anyone added drains in that area?

Our 25 came to us with 2 drain holes drilled at the base of the sill which drained into the aft cabin eventually ending up in the bilge. Since enclosing the cockpit solved much of the water issue and my wife felt that water seen rather than hidden was more likely to get cleaned up, she plugged the holes.
