Rocket Launchers

Post by furball »

Can any of the Maryland folks recommend someone who does custom stainless tubing work. I'd like to get some prices on a rocket launcher for spring. Need the rod storage desperately.
Thanks,

John,
If you do a search of this site, you'll find more info on the following:

http://www.rivermarinesupply.com/xcart/ ... t=0&page=1

Some members have used these.
I'm thinking of ordering 4-6 myself.
They look easy to install, and if need be, remove or adjust. I think I'd spin 'em around before I did my shrink-wrap, or at least pad them.

Just place a can Koozie over each one when it's time to wrap.

Thanks Bob but I have the mast on my 28 not a radar arch. I need to get tubing bent to follow the back edge of the extended hard top. I need it just high enough to keep the bottom of the rod holders above the back edge because I have a bimini top that zips to the hardtop. The tubing will be the dificult part, them I can bolt on the holders.
Thanks

John, I had a set made just like you described, but out of aluminum. Stainless steel was twice the cost. I will try to dig out the guys name and number in the next day or two. If you send me your e-mail address I can send you some pics and then maybe you can post them. I have had no luck trying to do that.

Kevin,
The Koozie idea is perfect....those poor fellas sit idle all winter just waitin' to protect something...
I'll give 'em a year around job...

Thanks.

John,
Ah ha, no radar arch. Got it.

I made my own rocket launchers but had them assembled by a local welder. He also bent the horizontal pipe to follow the contours of the roof. I built a cardboard mock-up of the back of the roof and he worked off of that. Turned out pretty good

Mike,
Nice job following the roof line along with getting the rods closer and easier to reach. In the case of what John is looking for it just may work for him by raising the launcher tubes a bit as not to interfere with his bimini.
