And from that same article, "The hardtop version is a piece of New England tradition, a buttoned-down keep-a-lid-on-it stalwart, designed for the Greek Fisherman's-hat-pipe-smoking crowd."

The author has clearly never been to one of our rendezvous

Oh god! I have this mental image of us all sitting around with our little greek hats on, puffing on clay pipes singing sea chanties! I'm literally laughing so hard in the Palm Beach Airport that security is starting to take notice! Oh Oh! they are coming over with the drug dog! Oh god! Save me!

I have been contacted by a member who owns the boat mentioned in my post, early in this thread, that was built or finished by Bladen Composites at their NC plant. I called it a "dog". The current owner objects to this characterization of his boat, although he does, in a post of his own, sometime ago, state that Standish Boatyard had to do considerable work to bring it up to their standards. I believe that my statement was correct, in essence, that Bladen did not do a great build job, if a bit flip using the term "dog". I apologize for the flip comment. The owner assures me that the boat performs well and has met or exceeded his expectations. I'm sure that it's a great boat that he and his family take great pride in and I apologize again for my offhand comment. I expect the boat in question will give them many happy hours of service and hope that all their travels on her are safe and fun. We all love our boats, and I'm sorry for any pain/inconvenience/unhappiness my comment may have caused.
