A23?

Post by Tree »

Didn't know Albin made an A 23??

There is an absolutely beautiful example on FindAFishingBoat here in the UK for sale at a very reasonable price.

Built in 2003 and imported from America - looks like it could be a brilliant boat for someone here in the UK

Link Posted so you guys can see the pictures - i have nothing to do with the sale.

Nothing you couldn't accomplish with a sawzall and a bucket of goop...

That is a nice looking boat. Thanks, Tree.

Google Translate renders a pretty intelligible English version which I append herewith.
================================
When, in retrospect, we were faced with the "beginning of the end" of the Albin yard in Sweden, designs had already been made there for the successors to the Albin 21 and 25. These became the Albin 23 and 26 respectively. The Albin 26 has been put into production to a limited extent. It has remained with the construction of about 100 boats. Look elsewhere on the site for more information about the Albin 26. The 23, as a successor to the 21, was built and sold in larger numbers, especially in Scandinavia. The exact number is unfortunately unknown, but many have disappeared. The 23 is actually not much different than a slightly extended 21, where the height of the hull has also become slightly greater. The stern has been adjusted, in particular in width, and the superstructure and cockpit have been given a different layout. It all looked a bit more modern, as it was considered beautiful at the time: sleek, angular, but the beautiful hull has remained. The layout is almost identical to that of the 21, and the kitchen in the cockpit is particularly striking. The big difference between the 21 and 23 is, in addition to the slightly greater length, the windows in the cockpit. Where the 21 had the characteristic open roof with the “bracket” behind it, the 23 got an aluminum window with a fully open cockpit. Covering was done by means of a tent. The boat was then equipped with more powerful Volvo Penta engines than those built into the 21. In the Netherlands, the 23 was still offered by Albin Netherlands at the time and was probably sold a few times. Until now only 1 "23" is known to the Circle of Albin Motorbootvaarders, which would sail in the Rotterdam area. However, we have not yet been able to actually track down this boat.
