DA. or someone else with a 3GM30. Do you have some images of the engine mounts and how you made the bed fit? Someone was asking on FB

Merry Christmas! I missed this post the other day. We inherited our 3GM30F already installed by previous owners. It included a AquaDrive thrust bearing/CV joint setup with makes it almost vibration free. Here are some pictures.

The soft engine mounts are bolted to flat steel plates attached to the engine beds. The thrust bearing bolts to a fabricated angle iron piece bolted to the engine bed rails. The thrust bearing takes all the load from prop thrust so no direct force is placed on engine & transmission & with soft mounts & CV joints (like a front wheel drive car) very little vibration is transmitted to the hull.

Joe DeMers of Sound Marine Diesel used to have a shop at 86 E Main in Plainville CT near Hartford & a web page discussing re-repowering small diesels including Albin 25s. We stopped by to visit that shop in June, 2015 on the way from Erie Canal to Weekapaug, RI to spend a week with sailing friends at a beach house owned by a sailing friend. But that shop is now doing business as Affordable Marine Power Center & may not be connected with Mr. DeMers anymore & no longer lists itself as Beta diesel dealer nor a Yanmar dealer. Now seems to specialized in gas powered boats.

Joe's "Sound Marine Diesel LLC" is still listed to his home address at 127 Walsh St, Newington, CT 06111, also in the Hartford area, but no active website or phone number. If you can contact him he could give good advice on installing a 3GM30 in an Albin 25.

Thanks DA! Looks like they made new engine mount brackets to move the mounts out to the bed.
