Visit to Albineers of BC

Post by SalishAire »

I just checked the Albineers of BC and they have moved from "dates tentative" to no such comment on their May 13-15 2022 Port Browning, Pender Island get together. https://www.albinbc.com/2022-social-calendar We hope to have Hyacinth, Karma, Weather, etc in sync so we can tow to a launch site closer to them (Anacortes or Blaine) and go see what a covey of Albins looks like. Border crossing requirements look doable https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/trave ... exemptions .

Hi Norman,

We along with WillieC have been to two Albineers of BC rendezvous, both in Ladysmith during month of July in 2018 & 2019. Super great bunch of folks. And of course North Pender is home to dkirsop. We're hoping to make it back to at least one of this year's rendezvous, either the June 10-12 in Port Browning, or more likely the July 15-17 in Ladysmith. We'll still be at home through most of May and be returning around the end of July or first few days of August. Hope you enjoyed your RV travels in AZ & your visit to our home. What's the status of your Alaska plans?

Port Browning on N. Pender is one of our favorite stops in the Gulf Islands after checking in to Canadian Customs at Bedwell Harbour/Poets Cove on S. Pender. Which by the way, when clearing US Customs at Point Roberts on the way back it's now done via video chat on the CBP ROAM smartphone app.

We're getting anxious to head up to Blaine, damn the fuel costs, full speed ahead! One last project to do before then is to roll on a fresh coat of Pettit Hydrocoat ECO bottom paint.

I am putting my boat into the water on the evening of May 1. Tides have not been great lately and opportunities that meet my minimum height requirements are scarce unless one launches at 1:00am. Give me a call if you come over.

We'll be out on our local lake for our winter/spring season finale. Gonna be a warm one!
