Albin 30 Cockpit hatch covers

Post by Ed422 »

I’m not sure if the old 27’s have cockpit hatches (square openings in the hardtop over the pilot and navigator seats). It looks like 25s don’t. My 30 does. One has a cover fabricated out of 1/4” tinted acrylic. The other used to but it was lost before I bought the boat. I have come up with a design for a folding hatch cover and have gotten a price from a local plastics place. It’s about what I expected, but before pulling the trigger, I figured I ask here. If you have these openings, what is your solution? Do you know what was there originally? Any pics would be appreciated.
