Ambler made me think of boat dogs/first mates and I thought it would be nice to see other Albin owners' marine buddies (dogs, cats, parrots etc).
Here are some pix of Daisy Mae to kick things off. She's a Boykin Spaniel, Super smart All-American breed and the State dog of SC. Boykins are tremendous birding dogs - flushing and retrieving and they have a real sense of humour. Daisy Mae was easy to train and has just passed her AKC Canine Good Citizen test.
She loves to be aboard Mazboot, and quite happily sleeps in the forepeak or on the engine hatch. She always wears a PFD despite being a great swimmer. Weighing in at 38lbs (dry) she would now be a bit of handful to hoist inboard\, so I've installed an outboard motor crane on the aft railing (which has just been made very secure with new backing and bolts). I'll be carrying out dog-retrieval drills ASAp.

Anyway - here are my pics; love to see your boat dog pix.

A few shots of Finn hanging out on the A25. He is a "limited edition" mutt.

He's well at home onboard, as are all the best dogs.

Love this thread! My boat name is based on my dogs :D. They enjoy boat life just as much as me. Drew is a mut rescue; a mix of many breeds, an old lady, but LOVES the water. Swimming helps keeps her old legs and muscles in check. Gunther is a 4-year-old Golden Retriever. I had to buy a dog ramp for this season because he constantly wants to be in and out of the water fetching balls.

Two contented boat dogs if ever I saw. Do they supervise your working on board as well?
