Why do I have to log in everytime I go to the AOG site? Is that something new?

It's not an AOG requirement or even something within AOG's control as far as I know. It's controlled by your browser.

I use Chrome & have the password saved so it's a one click log in. This site is not https encrypted (right at the top of the address bar it says "not secure") so I'd just as soon be logged out between sessions.

It only this site for me that always have to log in to. Only on my iPhone.
Every other site remembers my info.
Something is different here.

Agree. Something about this site has changed. I checked my browser, and the information is there. I never had to log in before, and I am not logging out now. Yet I now have to log in every time I go to the site. Not a huge inconvenience but just curious.

I've never been in a rush to add HTTPS to any site that doesn't really need it. The only PII here is your email address. All transactions that involve your credit card are handled via PayPal. Google and Apple decided for the rest of the world that HTTPS is necessary to provide a sense of security.
As far as your password being saved, as Nancy mentioned, that is controlled by your browser. "Keep me logged in" is something I've never used but I will look into it.
Thanks for letting me know. Stay warm.

Okay folks. Site has been updated. To properly apply HTTPS I had to upgrade a few things. Here is the list of upgrades
SQL
PHP
PHPBB
The site theme then needed to be updated. You will see differences/changes since it was originally installed years ago.

We all should have that warm feeling of security. 8)

Thanks
