Did you try clicking the "Add Files" button at the bottom of the screen?
The "insert image" icon might only work to include a link to an image on the web; I'm not sure.

I don't believe that there is an option to add files. I could never find it.

Switch over to email.

I see it at the bottom when I scroll down.
That said, I much prefer the email link over the private message function. I feel like it has a better chance of reaching the recipient. Also, you can only have 40 private msgs on file.

While on the subject of posting pictures, it seems that since the recent site upgrade we're back to not being able to post larger 1 to 3+ MB plus hi res file sizes without getting an error message & have to resize them down to 1MB or less file size like we used to have to do a few years back.

Kevin is correct. No attachments in PMs. Too often over the years the PM database grew too large because of attachments that folks never picked up or deleted.
Email is a much better way to share.

Thanks
