Mack Boring Yanmar Diesel Training Class

Post by gmberkley »

I was wondering if anyone had every taken this class. I am new to the diesel engine and want to learn as much as I can about it, not sure if they even offer training any longer, I did send an email inquiring about classes, if these aren't available, or not worth the time and money, are there any other avenues anyone would suggest.

thanks Gregg

I have taken that class and highly recommend it. You will have hands on training with the model engine you own. They will show you how to get out of trouble and things you shouldnt get into. Go for it.

I was contacted by Mary Beth Johnsen, from the main office of Mack Boring. She provided a listing of dates when classes are held, they only provide training in New Jersey at their facility located at 245 Belmont Drive, Somerset, NJ.
Her email is mbjohnsen@mackboring.com. the following is a portion of her email to me.

Dear Greg:

It was a pleasure to speak to you this afternoon. Thank you for your interest in our Boat Owner’s Diesel Engine training . Mack Boring will be holding multiple classes for 2 Day Boat Owner’s Diesel Engine Maintenance Training at our facility at 245 Belmont Drive , Somerset N.J . In the 2-day Hands-On Class from Mack Boring & Parts Co. Students will learn how to perform routine maintenance as well as how to break down a diesel engine to perform emergency repairs . Owners of virtually every style sailboat and powerboat have improved their maintenance and emergency repairs skills through this hands on training.
