Dead rise angle - transducer location?

Post by Tree »

Hi guys. Can anyone confirm as the last page in the document library is a bit low on image quality.

I’m trying to confirm the deadrise angle just forward of the keel so I order the correct pair of transducers for my Axiom Real Vision system ready for March.

From what I can tell it’s between 20° and 26° which would mean I’ll need to buy the 20° beam pair of transducers and not the initially thought 12° beam units.

If anyone can chime in and confirm it’ll make me happier I’ve ordered the correct ones.

Just had my installer check mine for for same, going with the B175H-W. He measured it at around 16-17 degrees. That falls into the 20 degree model specs. Mine is a 2006 flush deck.

Thanks for that Kevin. I suspect I’ll fit my transducers further apart ideally utilising the existing hole where the 21 year original is situated and just copy identically on the port side under the fish box. They’re about the same distance forward, possibly a little more astern. I have the Downvision to cover me for shallow water which is transom mounted if I find I get an invisible spot.

FWIW .. here's an old thread on tilted element and general transducer placement on the 28TE.

Is that the pair of transducers? If so where did you install them as i am currently looking at the Y joining cable length and i am thinking these may need to go forward of the engine

We just have one transducer, Lee. It's located forward of the raw water strainer. If you need a photo from further away, let me know.
