A28 aft cockpit panel removal

Post by DaveS »

Has anyone removed the aft deck panel on an A28 (2005)? Need to get access to some overboard hoses and the hinged panel doesn't provide for enough working space. I see it is screwed and glued (hopefully not 5200). Anything else to know?

It’s a pretty simple job. I did it a couple months ago and it is pretty easy. I had sealant in the joint that I used a box cutter to cut. I used a flat exacto knife and scotch brite pad to clean up the old sealant. You also need to remove the drain hoses for the aft hatches.

Thanks for the response. And glad to hear it is pretty straight forward.

A picture is always king:
Aft deck panel:
The above fuel tank decking?
Aft of the fuel tank deck there are 3 hinged deck hatches, easy access.
(I am guessing you have a Flush Deck boat?)
