28 TE Repower Options

Post by EBlake »

I have a 1996 28 TE with original Peninsular 310 HP. I am exploring replacing this engine with a like powered engine that will fit and work without rebuilding the bilge. Looking for suggestions hopefully with specification such as ratios, prop, and etc. Or, directions to where I might obtain such information. Any and all information regarding gotchas, special consideration and, or good things is welcomed and will be appreciated.

I would start with getting really familiar with this series of vids:

Very nice selection of vids with a LOT of very good information, but could not find anything that drilled into the detailed specifications that would be immensely useful in selecting a replacement power train. Thanks for the direction, these will come in handy as I move forward with this project.
