What happened to this poor boat?

Post by Nancy »

A new listing for a 2006 28TE flush deck with blue-gray hull in Jacksonville appeared on Yachtworld today....anyone else seen it? What do you suppose happened to this poor boat? The entire pilothouse looks like a re-fabrication??? I don't think Albin built any pilothouses like that. The photos show absolute filth (except for the unopened bag of orange life preservers) and maybe water damage (?), but the listing says the engine was rebuilt in 2022. Such a shame especially since there's some interesting cabinetry in the cabin.

And the price...with no explanation. I'm tempted to call the broker just to get the story. If it had only been one weird thing, I might not have thought too much about it, but the list is endless.

Hey Jeremy! Where you been? All good?
Yes, I'm thinking hurricane, but that only answers some of the questions, and wouldn't you think the listing would discuss it? There's no accounting for the price.

I think i remember the story behind this one - its on the boards here somewhere!

If I recall, the owner lost the pilot house in heavy seas - I will have to take a look now
