I attempted a rebuild on my 4D61, but after new liners, bearings, etc. the oil pump seized and locked up the again. Didn't have the heart to do it again, so I got a low hour Yanmar to replace it with. I've got a pile of parts that I'd love to find a good home for. Here's a rough list of what I've got. I may have missed something, so message me if you're looking for particular pieces, as I actually have a second block that has some useful pieces still on it.
2 x Cylinder Heads (1 brand new)
2x Starters (Different hole configurations)
2x Injector Pumps
1x Lift Pump
2x Sets of Injectors (1 set thread in/1 set needs hold downs)
2x Fresh water pump (1 new)
1x Raw water pump
1x Heat exchanger
1x Oil Cooler

Don’t suppose you have the brackets that hold the heat exchanger on. Mine went somewhere else before I bought my 27, and I have been reliant on 3 big hose clamps for the past five years. They work just fine but the real thing would a luxury.
Also: where are you based? I’ve been known to drive for parts.

I'd be interested in some of those parts - especially the starter.
I'm located on the east coast of Canada, so not sure about shipping costs.
Can you email prices for what you have? My 4D61 has 2500+ hours, so might time to have some spares bits and bobs.

This user has not logged in since Aug., 2020. I'll send a note to see if parts are still available.

You back from penguin-land yet? I'd like to see about getting some pulleys off your engine. I'd like to use them to convert my engine to a serpentine drive system.

I'm still interested in a starter, and possibly some other things.

My starter diatribe was aimed specifically at Fred Webster, so apologies to others.
My plight-worth-sharing with the 4D61 is that I noticed the forward port motor mount tab, at the block, was broken off.
CAST IRON, of course. What to do? I wonder if it can be welded.
I wonder how it happened. Maybe I need to make sure the engine is aligned. She was on the hard for YEARS.
I had it trucked here to my back yard.
I am NOT replacing the engine. Until I get the rest of the boat running smoothly and in the water.
I guess that means planning for an Outboard, just in case, as backup. But we won't be going offshore just yet.
Any advice on motor mounts out there? -- Stuart

Ufosurfer - if the LP is not available you might consider replacing with an electric fuel pump. I did this this year and it works perfectly. I can send pix it that would help.

One more post - A) Are the starters still up for grabs? B) Are you back from the Cold place yet?
I just know that sooner or later I'll be looking desperately for a starter. I can send pix of my existing to check hole configuration.
I had SS Heat Exchanger clamps made. So much better than hose clamps
PM me with starter answer.
Thanks
