Weird dip stick damage. ZF 630V1 tranny

Post by Norseman »

Did the gears chew on it.?
I am the only one to have a dip stick with rubbing damage?
No idea when this happened, I would have/should have noticed it in the past, but only but I guess not.
Kept forgetting to order a new one, but before I do:
Anybody else with this kind of indentation, or am I just lucky?
$39.00 plus shipping..

Or it was laid upon a hot manifold and melted?

Nope, not since I bought this tub anyhow.
I am just about to order a new one, just curious
if anybody else has the same thing.. (Known problem?)

Found a new dip stick here in Fort Lauderdale cheaper than eBay:

Problem solved.
Went for a spin today and pulled the new dip stick after I got
back, just to make sure some gear was out of whack and chewing
on dip sticks..Negative, all good.
