MHBC Bass & Blues Tourney

Post by Pitou »

A change in strategy for this years boat club tourney. Took an old Kodiak livewell from my last boat and rigged a buddies boat with it and filled it with tinker mackeral .... fished the ledges and bumps on the 150 - 180 ft. line in Mass. Bay for bass. I scored 1st & 2nd with 2 nice bass. One at 45 inches & 33 lbs. and the other 43 inches & 33 1/4 lbs. I'm holding the fattie. One stomach had 8 eels and one mack. The other 3-4 eels and 3 macks. A good day on the water ! :D :D

Thanks Capts..

DELILAH is a 28 ft. custom built 2002 wooden boat. She was built for a friend's Dad by Crocker's Boat Yard, Manchester, MA. Powered by a 200hp Yanmar her full keel design pushes 22 knots, and has a 14-15 knot cruise, talk about sipping fuel  . She is hull design #271 all of which were designed by Sturgis Crocker, many being one of a kind. She originally came off as a blue hull and was repainted white after her 1st season. Below, the cabin has a galley and reefer to port, head to starboard and v-berth forward, kind of like our 28's, but not the headroom / the bruises on my head reflect that. Recently my buddy and I have been busy making her more fishy by adding more rod holders, outriggers and now the livewell. 8)

Cool boat for sure! here is a link to the Crocker site and some photos of her build out.

Man, that is one pretty boat. I don't think Karen could deal with the somewhat smallish cabin, but it sure is a nice boat to look at.

I wonder why nobody has ever put a "boxer" style engine in a boat. A flat transverse style motor like a Porsche or Suburu power plant would fit below most decks without a motor box and still give plenty of gunnel height.
