Blustery Day on the Gulf Pics.

Post by Bidgood »

We spent the last five days on Bidgood on a cruise from Naples. FL up to Sarasota. Had a front come through and generate some pretty good waves. If there was ever a doubt about what these boats can do a picture is worth a thousand words!

I thought the pic above was interesting but a cruise partner just sent me this one from the same trip. Enjoy! We love these boats!

That first shot looks a tad wet! Lovely sunshine and blue sky.

Wow! Looks like a rather wet, bumpy ride on the one day. But, any day on a boat is better than a day at work! ;-) Glad you had a good trip! BTW, you might just have some Albin calendar pictures for 2014!

I know that the Gulf doesn't compare to the seas of the North East US but it is just really cool to have a wave break over the boat and the wall of water engulf the pilot house. It is an experience that only pilots of these boats safely experience. Usually accompanied by a "WAHOOOOOO!"

Don't discount bad seas on the Gulf! We may not average waves as large but the frequency is a lot higher because of the shallow water. It can be punishing to man and boat.

That is true. Remember "It is not how fast you go, but what you look like while you are getting there!"

Not to take anything away from the Gulf, in fact the wave action is probably similar, but you've got to experience Long Island Sound in a Nor' Easter. Fun! Like a giant bathtub!
