Here in Boston we start seeing the stripers arrive when the water temp tops fifty. Just got a surface reading of 44 and a mid-depth reading of 40 at the marina. This was at high tide in 40 feet of water by the locks heading into the Charles River. Temps are slowly creeping up, so I think we're still a month off. No sign of herring readying to go upriver to spawn either. Some of the holdover stripers are starting to bite, need to really fish slow and deep with small rubber baits in the warm water discharges. Going to give it a try late this week. My obsession is now complete. Wife's gonna be pissed!
