Yanmar Tach

Post by Reidmeyers »

Last year, the alternator on my 1996 Albin 28 Yanmar diesel overheated and fried a number of my instruments, including the Tach. It is a P-117. My mechanic believes the diode is burned.
I have replaced and upgrade the others but the Tach is inclosed and apparently can’t be rebuilt. I am desperately looking for a replacement. I have researched and talked to many instrument specialists but none can help. I am now down to looking on EBay for a used one but have been unlucky with that for a year.
Any thoughts, experiences or recommendations from the AOG??

Hi Reid -- welcome aboard!

Last summer, I replaced the old cloudy Beede tach with a new Aetna LCD tach, 8905R-B-H-DS (https://www.aetnaengineering.com/model- ... achometer/). It was an easy swap.
