32+2 dinette to bed

Post by Tbrodes »

Hi- in the process of purchasing a 1994 32+3 tri cabin layout.

How does the dinette table lower to create a large berth? I couldn’t figure it out…

Welcome aboard!
Is the table mounted on a post with a knob? You should be able to loosen the knob and lower the table. If the mechanism hasn't been used for a while, it might take a lot of strength to lower it. Also, it might be helpful to post a photo in case what you have is different from what I'm thinking of.

Hi Nancy- thank you & thrilled to be joining the Albin community

Yes- the table is on a post, with a bracket the can remove the table. I loosened the clamp on the pedestal but couldn’t get it to lower (or come out). I’ll snap a picture during sea trial (passed structural survey with flying colors!)

Might be a good question for the owner or surveyor. Good luck with the sea trial!

The table on my 32+2 takes some force to push down- loosen knob then push hard dead center above the post. There is a metal stop on the bulkhead below on my boat to prevent the post from causing damage if pushed too far. I'd advise checking that compartment below the table, which is how you'll access the front bilge pump and fresh water pump as well.
