Sionyx Night Cam

Hey all, I just picked one of these up and thought I would share. It is a night cam made by Sionyx and can be mounted using a ram mount. It streams wirelessly via wifi. to a tablet or phone. I plan on using it for night runs and can stream it to my ipad on my ram mount on my dash. For $400 it seems like it will be handy. I am sure it wont be as nice as a Flir but it looks interesting. Of course the ram mounts end up costing almost as much as the unit itself.

I’ve been looking at those. Any chance you can do some real time screen shots of it at night?

Sweet! I took a video with it at the boat dock at night and was really impressed

Mine arrived today. Just been playing about with it and grabbed this picture of my garden I near darkness. The ambient light is from the patio doors so I’m pretty sure this is going to be a massive asset at night on the water.

Thats great! I can tell you, I am really impressed with what I have seen from mine so far. I always hated running at night, especially with all of that glass in the pilothouse

I’m just waiting on the weather to get out to sea and it’s coming with me. Once I’ve worked out what I need to do I shall make a mount for it and my iPad and I’ll need to come up with some kind lens shroud so I can mount it hard against the starboard forward window. That way I can keep everything plugged in etc.

I got the pro (the white one). If you want to message me your number I’ll text you the video I took but be forewarned it’s pretty low quality. It needed a firmware update when I took it and was trying to take a video of my iPad with my phone.

I also got the pro since they’re the only ones that are IP67 rated.

I am planning to take the boat to see the fireworks in Rock Hall, MD on Monday. Bought this on a whim and it arrived today. Going to play around with it this weekend. Will report back.

I’m seriously thinking of upgrading mine now to the night wave but only if I can find a way of making it work with a 12” axiom. Currently the axiom units don’t accept analog input unless there is another way.
